This is a support-focused role designed to provide training and development opportunities in game programming and prototyping within a university research environment.

Position Overview  | The Game Development Technical Specialist will support the development of Medimon, an educational creature-collector game designed to enhance health science literacy. This role emphasizes assisting in implementing and testing prototype gameplay mechanics, integrating assets, and supporting research-related data collection tools. The position will work closely under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and interdisciplinary collaborators.

Duties may include: Assisting with implementation, testing, and optimization of prototype gameplay features in Unity. Integrating art and animation assets into the Unity game engine. Supporting development of systems for in-game data collection to track engagement and learning outcomes. Performing debugging, playtesting, and version control (GitHub). Preparing documentation and providing progress updates to the PI. Other support duties as assigned.
