The College of Science is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Graduate Program Coordinator to support graduate education initiatives and departmental operations in the Biology Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic academic environment, building relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and helping programs run efficiently and effectively. What You'll Do
As the Graduate Program Coordinator, you will provide high-level administrative and program support while serving as a key resource for graduate students, faculty, and departmental leadership. Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate graduate program activities, events, and communications.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, and external partners, resolving complex inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
  • Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support departmental initiatives and decision-making.
  • Monitor program budgets, maintain records, and assist with financial and administrative processes.
  • Support special projects and program initiatives, often working independently and exercising sound judgment.

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
  • Requires a High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in an administrative support role
Skills Required:
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
  • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
  • Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback
  • Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Drafting, proofreading and editing skills
