University of South Carolina is hiring a Graduate Programs Coordinator. The Coordinator will provide administrative support for various non-JD graduate programs, managing HR duties, travel, expense reports, and budget tracking for faculty program directors while working independently and balancing multiple priorities.
Highlights
Manage administrative tasks for graduate programs including Excellence In Policing and Public Safety, Health Law, Environmental Law, and other non-JD programs.
Handle HR responsibilities such as creating position descriptions, postings, and hiring proposals.
Manage travel, expense reports, purchase orders, and payment requests following university policies.
Assist with preparation of program materials, scheduling, events, and class materials.
Serve as administrative assistant to faculty advisors for special initiatives, ensuring timely program launches.
Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, PeopleSoft, and ability to learn CRM application Slate.
Must manage travel and purchasing cards.
Required minimum education: high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of job-related experience; bachelor's degree and related experience preferred.
Salary range: $49,396 to $55,000 commensurate with experience.
Finalists must pass Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency tests administered through Employ Test.
Finalists for this position will be required to take a proficiency test in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel administered through Employ Test. This test may be given at an in-person interview if the candidate reaches this stage of the hiring process.

Advertised Job Summary | Under the limited supervision of the Director of Graduate Programs with direct supervision from the Program Manager for the Excellence in Policing and Public Safety Programs, the Coordinator will provide administrative support to the faculty and staff working on the Non-JD graduate programs, to include the Masters in Health Law, Excellence In Policing and Public Safety Credentialing and Masters programs, Environmental Law program and other non-JD graduate programs. The Coordinator is responsible for handling HR duties, travel, expense reports, and payment requests and for tracking spending against program budgets for the faculty program directors. The Coordinator must be detailed oriented and organized and be able to work independently with little supervision and balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.

Microsoft Word Excel Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Typically holds a high school diploma or GED and requires 2 or more years of job related experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency. Prior work experience within the USC system including HR processes is preferred. There will be 2 proficiency assessments administered by Employ Test in Microsoft Word and Excel.
