Job Description:
The School of Social and Family Dynamics is seeking an innovative, student-focused professional to join our team as a Graduate Programs Student Services Support Coordinator. Our School offers online and immersion graduate programs in Family and Human Development and Sociology, with additional certificates and programs in development. This position will focus primarily on supporting our online master's degrees and accelerated master's pathways.
The Graduate Programs Student Services Support Coordinator plays a key role in advancing student enrollment, retention, and graduation by coordinating admissions and advising processes, supporting graduate programs, and engaging in outreach efforts. This role requires initiative, independent judgment, and strong attention to detail to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment. The position works closely with students, faculty, and staff as a central resource for both prospective and current students, contributing to orientations, program initiatives, and university-wide strategic goals. In addition, the Graduate Programs Student Services Support Coordinator will build and sustain cross-program advising partnerships, contribute to the development of coordinated degree pathways, and assist in establishing shared advising protocols to strengthen collaboration across programs. The role also relies heavily on technology and data, including monitoring student progress, responding promptly to student inquiries, and executing time-sensitive projects.

Days and Schedule: Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, with some evenings and weekends required (based on program schedule and needs). Flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, will be available after a brief onboarding period (subject to approvals per ASU policy). Note: Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular work week at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
Position Salary Range: $48,000 to $54,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
- Deliver comprehensive student advising and support for online master's programs, including accelerated pathways.
- Provide high-quality support to prospective, incoming, and current students through timely communication (phone, email, face-to-face, virtual), curriculum guides, and presentations/workshops.
- Assist students with completing the application process and partner with the recruitment team and other units at ASU to track application materials. Assist students with course overrides and capacity overrides as appropriate.
- Process admission decisions in PeopleSoft, send welcome materials to students, and assist students with enrollment.
- Provide consistent outreach and communication to the student population regarding enrollment and other high-priority initiatives.
- Process administrative transactions on behalf of students and interpret and enforce policies and procedures.
- Connect students with campus resources (e.g., financial aid, tutoring, counseling and career services) and provide academic guidance and problem-solving.
- Monitor and support satisfactory student progress by guiding students through degree planning/course selection, reviewing plans of study, and partnering with the Director of Graduate Studies on probation/dismissal procedures as needed.
- Document and monitor student files, records, and advising notes (interactions, appointments, advising activities, and outcomes) in university systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and iPOS.
- Provides administrative support for students' capstone experiences, including assisting with required forms, approvals, and related processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of academic programs and advising policies.
- Build and maintain cross-program advising partnerships to design coordinated degree pathways, establish shared advising protocols, and ensure warm handoffs between programs.
- Utilize institutional data to monitor student success metrics and inform retention strategies and outreach efforts.
- Engage in scheduled meetings, trainings, and committees as needed, and represent the program at college/unit events, including recruitment and student-success initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the continuity of program operations and to meet evolving program needs.
- Work closely and collegially with academic unit faculty and staff to support comprehensive student success.

Desired Qualifications:
- Evidence of a master's degree in education/higher education, student affairs, or related field.
- Experience advising online and immersion campus students in a higher education setting.
- Experience advising master's and doctoral students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international student policy and the needs of the international student population.
- Experience in discussing financial aid, registrar requirements, veterans' benefits, and academic progress with students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Graduate College policies and procedures.
- Experience and efficiency working with and using Salesforce, PeopleSoft and Graduate Application Review.
- Evidence of proven success in advising students via Salesforce, phone communication, virtual and in-person meetings.
- Experience in completing a multi-step process with attention to detail.
- Experience in changing environments while maintaining a positive and productive outlook.
- Experience in contributing to team morale and engaging team and supervisor in constructive conversation.
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%)
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
