Job Summary  | The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering is seeking a personable individual to fill the Graduate Coordinator position. The employee will assist graduate students seeking graduate degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering and Nuclear Engineering. This individual will utilize professional guidance skills to assist students and faculty in navigating the university academic policy and procedures in making decisions concerning their personal educational goals to lead to graduation.

The ideal candidate will be detail and service-oriented.

Responsibilities  | This position assists the following degrees within the department: MS & PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Online MS in Construction Engineering (new fall 2025), and MS & PhD in Nuclear Engineering.

A highlight of job duties include: Administrative tasks to support graduate students. This includes, but is not limited to, record-keeping, program of study coordination, and graduation tracking. Actively participates in campus-based professional development communities, including but not limited to GAPA or other relevant campus-based organizations that directly impact their position. Collects and disseminates information to students, faculty and departments about changes in degree requirements or University policies and adjusts advising strategies as appropriate. Processes graduate school applications and coordinates with graduate committees with any interview and onsite processes. Acts in partnership with faculty to coordinate scheduling exams, or defenses. Assists students with developing a working relationship with faculty in the assigned program. Participates in events related to graduate programs, including: graduate student orientation and professional development events.
