The University of Houston-Downtown is hiring a Graphic Designer. This role involves developing and designing visual and digital materials to support instructional initiatives, communications, and program reporting, while ensuring alignment with university branding and accessibility standards. The Graphic Designer creates a variety of media including promotional, web, and presentation materials, and supports digital tools and course design to enhance the learning experience.

Designs visual, digital, and multimedia materials for programs, faculty development, workshops, newsletters, presentations, reports, and websites.
Creates instructional graphics, Canvas visuals, templates, icons, infographics, and presentation materials for faculty and students.
Supports instructional video and multimedia projects by producing graphics, animations, and visual assets.
Assists with video studio management, including preparing assets and coordinating media production workflows.
Applies accessibility-informed design practices to all digital and instructional materials.
Uses Adobe Creative Cloud and other design, photo editing, video editing, and animation tools proficiently.
Collaborates with faculty, staff, academic departments, and campus partners to manage timelines and complete design projects.
Requires an Associate’s degree in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field and at least one year of relevant experience with a portfolio.
Salary is $52,981 per year.
Experience with Canvas or learning management systems and higher education environments preferred.
