Job Summary
The Graphic Designer I supports the University of Texas at Arlington’s Division of Student Affairs by creating compelling, student-centered visual content that enhances communication, engagement, and brand consistency. This entry-level role is ideal for a creative professional who is passionate about storytelling through design and eager to grow in a collaborative higher education environment.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $38,000 – $45,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and produce a wide range of visual materials, including digital graphics, social media assets, flyers, posters, brochures, presentations, and web graphics.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members and Student Affairs departments to translate concepts into visually engaging designs.
  • Assist in photography, videography, and media preparation for events as needed
  • Develop design templates to support the Division of Student Affairs
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in higher education marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency and experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and knowledge of Canva.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity and experience with motion graphics, video editing, or tools such as After Effects or Premiere Pro.
  • Experience working in a higher education or student-focused environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of web design principles or tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, or CMS platforms).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
