Job Summary/Basic Functions
The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated HR team in our partnership with faculty and staff to achieve the goals of the university by attracting and retaining a highly qualified and motivated workforce. Responsible for providing broad HR support while leading initiatives related to employee training, professional development, and organizational learning. This role ensures compliance with HR policies and employment laws, supports recruitment and employee relations, and develops training programs to enhance employee skills, engagement, and performance.Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership to support the continuous learning and professional development of faculty and staff across campus. Provide guidance in the use of learning resources, such as the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC), UMW HR web site, HR functional tutorials.Collaborate with HR subject matter experts on the development and delivery of training for HR functional areas, to include companion materials, micro-learning and on-demand options.Serve as HR consultant and complete recurring HR essential assignments as required, such as HR website maintenance; Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC); Institutional Effectiveness Report; Classified, A/P and Wage Handbook. In coordination with HR team members, develop and deliver surveys that assess HR services. Support HR strategic planning with design and presentation of HR metrics, identify appropriate sources of data in response to metrics needs (RMS, gravity forms, surveys, exit interviews, etc.).
 
Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
Strong understanding of employment law and HR practices.
Ability to design engaging training content and lead effective sessions.
Strong ability to partner with managers and employees at all levels.
Proficiency with Recruitment Management Systems, HRIS and/or Learning Management Systems.

Required Experience:
Significant Human Resources generalist experience, including training and development.
Additional Considerations:Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field.
Experience working in a college/university HR department.
Experience working in HR for a Virginia state agency.
