This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Niyam IT. We are currently looking for a Human Resources Assistant in Virginia.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a people-driven organization by supporting HR operations in a dynamic and inclusive environment. You will play a key part in coordinating HR initiatives, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth processes across policies, benefits, and employee relations. The role is part-time (10 hours per week) and remote, requiring residency within a HUB zone.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to implement HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate projects such as surveys, training sessions, and compliance reports (AAP, EEO-1, etc.).
  • Maintain and update employee records in accordance with company policy and legal standards.
  • Support compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and incentive programs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, benefits, insurance, and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices, talent management trends, and legal requirements.
  • Assist in other HR-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
  • 1 to 3 years of HR experience preferred; PHR certification strongly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HR information systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
