Job Description:
The Instructional Designer supports the design and development of training for clients and their employees. This position requires creativity, flexibility and attention to detail. This individual will design and develop training that facilitates behavior change and transfers critical knowledge to the clients’ learners. This will include customizing existing content, as well as creating new content from scratch to meet requested needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, design, and oversee the development of learning courses with scenario-based teaching principles from analysis, design and story board through development of final deliverable
- Conduct comprehensive client research—analyzing client website, mission, vision, culture, policies and procedures and any other related client-specific content—to ensure training materials, images and videos accurately reflect the organization and requested customizations
- Write custom scenarios and slides for existing courses, which meet client needs and align with the learning objectives of the existing course
- Update existing custom course content including titles, narration, transitions and other related content to ensure alignment and consistency with the new custom scenarios or content
- Design and create detailed storyboards to guide eLearning development including narration, onscreen text, images, b-roll videos and music
- Support writing dialogue for narration and actor scripts
- Create objective aligned assessments and quizzes
- Source assets for development such as images, videos, and narration
- Create documentation to guide eLearning and video customization
- Collaborate with the video production team to ensure instructional objectives align effectively with available resources and constraints such as timelines, video options, budgets, and talent
- Collaborate with Solutions Consultant Team and Product Development team to ensure client requests and customizations are implemented correctly, ensuring smooth handoff of assets to the developers
- Turn meeting notes into project plans with a thorough understanding of tasks, milestones, dependency, and resource utilization
- Customize content for specific client needs
- Participate in external meetings with clients to scope custom solutions needed
- Coordinate with client and internal subject matter experts (ex: Compliance team) to ensure accuracy and relevance of course content
- Review existing solutions and courses for improvement opportunities
- Conduct quality assurance content reviews to ensure instructional design standards
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously on a daily basis, ensuring quality and timely delivery by communicating with coworkers and clients to ensure interim deadlines are met and projects remain on track
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot issues as they arise during course development
- Update content as needed per legal instruction as changes in the law may occur
- Work closely with Client Services, Sales, and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of learning solutions
- Utilize instructional design best practices
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or equivalent work experience in related area, preferred
- 3+ years of instructional design and development experience.
- Experience developing cutting-edge and digital learning
- Competency to write and design e-Learning courses, with a portfolio to demonstrate the experience
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in applying adult learning theory and iterative instructional design methodologies.
- Experience using Rapid Development tools, e.g. Articulate Storyline, a plus
- Program and project management experience, a plus
- Demonstrated success in working with and influencing cross-functional work teams, preferred[IN1]
- Great attention to detail that results in high-quality work the first time
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Comfortable with being on camera during internal and external meetings.

- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environment
- This position requires strong project management skills in a fast-paced environment. Experience using project management software such as Asana, Microsoft Project, Smartsheets or similar is preferred.
- Experience in creating and managing simultaneous projects from inception to completion
- Ability to work independently and manage workload and time effectively, with proven ability to do so from a remote/home based office.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have any direct reports.

The pay range for this position is $80,000-$87,000 annually. In addition, the position is eligible for an annual bonus.
