DSG is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development Team. In this full time, salaried position, work is typically performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. The Instructional Designer will support DSG’s strategic goals by designing and developing engaging, performance-focused learning solutions that support new hire onboarding, upskilling, compliance training, and organizational change initiatives.

A Typical Day in the Life of an Instructional Designer at DSG:
- Design and develop engaging, performance-based learning experiences aligned with business objectives and DSG’s strategic initiatives
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to create learner-centered solutions
- Translate complex information into clear, interactive, and measurable learning content across modalities (eLearning, job aids, videos, instructor-led)
- Integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies into design workflows to improve efficiency, creativity, and learner engagement
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and end users to design learning that supports organizational change and adoption of new systems and processes
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to ensure consistency in design standards, templates, and delivery methods
- Measure the effectiveness of learning programs using established evaluation methods (e.g., Kirkpatrick, Phillips)
- Gather learner and stakeholder feedback to drive iterative improvements and performance impact
- Stay current on industry best practices, learning science, and innovations in instructional technology with a focus on AI-enhanced learning design and data-driven decision-making
A Successful Instructional Designer Typically Has:
- Experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise for eLearning development
- A strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles
- Basic graphic design and visual communication skills using tools such as Canva and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage SMEs, leaders, and peers with empathy and confidence
- A curious and proactive mindset, with a willingness to explore new or unfamiliar topics
- Comfort working in ambiguity and helping create clarity where processes are still developing
- Motivation to make learning practical, accessible, and impactful for real-world applications
- An interest in exploring AI tools and data-driven approaches to enhance learning design and delivery
- Experience supporting organizational change, technology adoption, or process improvement initiatives (preferred)
- Familiarity with LMS or LXP platforms and a strong understanding of learning analytics (a plus)
