Position Description:
The Instructional Designer will develop, implement, and refine engaging learning experiences and training programs that align with the organization’s goals and professional development needs. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, designing instructional materials, and leveraging technology to support diverse learning modalities. The Instructional Designer will ensure all content meets industry and regulatory standards while promoting continuous learning and skill development within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Design: Develop interactive and engaging learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and multimedia resources.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct learning needs analyses through surveys, interviews, and performance data to identify knowledge gaps and create effective training solutions.
  • Content Development: Design and implement instructional content using various instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy).
  • Standards Alignment: Ensure training programs comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices in instructional design.
  • Collaboration: Partner with trainers, subject matter experts, and leadership teams to develop relevant and high-impact learning solutions.
  • Evaluation & Improvement: Implement assessment tools and feedback mechanisms to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning experiences.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to enhance digital learning delivery.
  • Project Management: Manage instructional design projects, ensuring timely development, implementation, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain high standards for instructional quality and learner engagement.
  • Apply best practices in instructional design and adult learning methodologies.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing strategic input and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure training content is inclusive and culturally responsive.
  • Adapt learning strategies to address the needs of diverse learners.

Required Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology or a related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in instructional design, training development, or adult education.
  • Experience designing both online and in-person training programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Instructional Design e-Learning development or Learning Management Systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong expertise in designing content for diverse professional audiences.
  • Expertise in instructional design models and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
  • Experience working with LMS platforms for content development and tracking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess learning effectiveness and optimize training.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • High adaptability to changing organizational and learner needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Work Conditions:
  • Environment: Hybrid
  • Range of Schedule:  Mon – Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Travel: Occasional, Local and Statewide - Uses own vehicle on agency business but does not transport clients.  (Must have a valid Texas driver license and current auto insurance)
