About the Role:

The Hims Learning and Development team is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer to support our blended learning initiatives for fulfillment centers and compounding labs. Reporting to the Sr. Instructional Designer, this role will be instrumental in developing effective training content that improves operational performance and drives business results.
We're looking for someone who can translate complex processes into engaging, accessible learning experiences using sound instructional design principles and adult learning theories. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creative thinking, technical expertise, and a results-oriented approach to help us continue building world-class training solutions for our associates.

You Will:
  • Design and develop instructional content for various delivery methods including e-learning, instructor-led training, job aids, and performance support tools.
  • Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to create practical, application-based training solutions.
  • Write clear, measurable learning objectives that align with business goals and support the overall curriculum strategy.
  • Conduct needs assessments and collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and understand performance gaps.
  • Build engaging e-learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, or similar platforms.
  • Create supporting multimedia elements including graphics, videos, and interactive components to enhance the learning experience.
  • Develop assessment strategies and evaluation tools to measure learning effectiveness and impact on performance.
  • Maintain and update existing training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Instructional Designer and cross-functional teams to ensure training initiatives meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews of learning content before deployment.
  • Support the implementation of training programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with instructional design best practices, learning technologies, and industry trends.

You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Evolve, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of multimedia software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, or Vyond.
  • Experience applying adult learning theories and instructional design models to create effective learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear learning objectives and develop assessments that measure learning outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to gather and organize content.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Portfolio of instructional design work demonstrating a range of learning solutions.

Skills (Preferred):
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), particularly Docebo.
  • Background in healthcare, pharmacy, or fulfillment/distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of video production and editing techniques.
  • Experience with accessibility standards for learning content (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Familiarity with data analysis to measure training effectiveness and impact.
  • Experience in warehouse or operations training development.
  • Understanding of performance improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Experience with mobile learning design and development.
  • Knowledge of xAPI or other learning data standards.
  • Certification in instructional design or related field (ATD, QM, etc.).
