Job Summary:
The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise learning solutions for Bechtel's global organization. They will provide deep experience and expertise in instructional design to build and maintain effective online training, learning solutions and performance support tools for the enterprise. They will work collaboratively with global colleagues to evaluate learning requests as well as develop and implement engaging learning solutions. #LI-KL1 #LI-Hybrid
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and designing learning solutions that are engaging, informative, high quality and delivered according to Corporate Learning and Developments standards.
- Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand their training needs, evaluate existing process and training documentation to identify the most suitable content to address learning requests.
- Develops e-Learning courses in partnership with a content SME through all stages of the learning design process.
- Develops graphics, animations, videos, and multi-media.
- Perform technical troubleshooting during and after the production process.
- Stays up to date with the latest design methods, theories, and technologies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency with a e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia) to support cross-platform deployment.
- Graphic design skills and experience in development of training video content.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and function as an effective team player across multiple organizations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of matrix organizational structure.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) with experience translating English content into Spanish is a plus.
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate global time zones, as needed.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards.
