Overview
The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and development of learning programs and materials which facilitate knowledge transfer in an effective, engaging and appealing manner which is aligned with adult learning principles.

Responsibilities
• Utilize written and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate staff/clients
• Design, develop and manage online learning tools, performance support aids, online tutorials, and other learning collateral
• Convert storyboards (draft screen layouts, graphics, screen interactions and scripts) into eLearning modules and/or system “show me” tutorials to provide staff and clients with just-in-time learning opportunities
• Develop and integrate meaningful course interactions/activities throughout course design process to support knowledge transfer and learner retention
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs, course competencies and learning objectives to determine appropriate training medium
• Synthesize, organize and write course content based on input from subject matter experts, research material, previous training courses, and staff dialogue/interviews
• Manage training content/updates residing on SharePoint and similar content management systems
• Oversight and administration of the LMS, including operational performance and management activities
• Maintain LMS system functionality and act quickly to troubleshoot and resolve any unexpected bugs or error
• Stay abreast of new trends and tools in adult learning principles and instructional/graphic design
• Provide monthly LMS reporting and analytics

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, English, Education or Graphic Design preferred
• 5 to 7 years of work experience in an instructional design role
• Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.) a plus
• Advanced organizational skills with ability to handle multiple assignments
• Advanced knowledge & application of adult learning principles

• Self-starter, motivated and proactive in bringing new ideas and solutions to the table and aggressively seeking knowledge

• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
