Position Summary
Atlassian is looking for an Instructional Designer to build highly technical training content for our rapidly growing customer base. As a member of the Atlassian Learning team, you will define course requirements, write learning objectives, and create customer-facing learning solutions in a variety of formats, including instructor-led training (ILT) for technical products, hands-on lab exercises, on-demand training (video, infographics, interactive content), training webinars, or a new creative solution brainstormed by you. This is a fully remote role in a remote first company!

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $106,000 - $141,300
Zone B: $95,400 - $127,100
Zone C: $88,000 - $117,300
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

In this role, you’ll get to:
- Design, develop, update, and maintain training courses for administrators, end-users, and everyone in between on Atlassian products
- Establish strong working relationships with SMEs and partners to ensure learning experiences are designed to improve customer outcomes
- Create learning experiences in different formats, including Instructor-Led Training (ILT), hands-on labs, on-demand training, and webinars
- Build effective assessments to ensure learners have been adequately prepared to use Atlassian tools in their day-to-day roles
- Work to ensure that all training materials are consistent, up-to-date, and aligned with the larger team and company goals
- Use an agile methodology to define, create, develop, and manage content projects through a prioritized backlog
- Collect and analyze course evaluation data to improve training content and effectiveness
You have experience in:
- Instructional design and a deep understanding of adult learning methodologies
- Crafting engaging, effective, modern learning content that supports and improves customer adoption of products
- Managing course development projects from inception to completion
- Working with a sandbox environment to develop hands-on-labs for instructor-led training (ILT) courses
- Communicating abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A results-oriented professional environment that requires critical thinking, resourcefulness, and a dedication to high-quality
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing technical Instructor-led-training (ILT) for cloud software products
- A Bachelor's degree in instructional design, computer science, information science, or equivalent work experience in a high-tech SaaS environment
- Knowledge of Atlassian products including Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of ITSM and DevOps preferred
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail that results in high-quality work the first time
- The ability to identify the best learning delivery formats for a specific set of learning goals
- A strong sense of autonomy and personal accountability
