Job Description--- Join the Center for Public Management (OU CPM) at the University of Oklahoma and be part of a team dedicated to making a daily impact in the lives of Oklahomans. Located within the College of Continuing Education, OU CPM specializes in providing training, research, and consulting to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public sector agencies, staff, and community partners. Our focus is not only on professional and programmatic development but also on fostering a culture of growth and opportunity since 1994.If making a meaningful difference in public service excites you, OU CPM is where your passion meets purpose.The Instructional Designer provides services to publicly funded clients of the Outreach Center for Public Management.Under the direction of the CPM Instructional Design Services Manager, is responsible for the design, development and evaluation of training materials and content for traditional and blended learning courses, online modules and related programs. Identifies meaningful learning outcomes and selects the most appropriate instructional approach (face-to-face, hybrid, or online) to fully realize those objectives.Designs, develops, and maintains online learning resources by leveraging eLearning tools and trends to engage the remote learner.Evaluates eLearning programs and makes recommendations for improvement.Designs and develops instructional materials and curriculum for traditional classroom training courses, and blended learning programs.Conducts needs assessments.Employs a variety of learning methods and emerging technologies to reach learning outcomes.Partners with internal/external University and state agency customers, learning consultants and subject-matter-experts to create design documents, specify learning objectives, select interactive exercises, and create evaluation plan.Identifies appropriate evaluation techniques and applies them to measure the impact of the learning experience.Conducts literature reviews of theory and evidence-based practices.Practices learner-centered instructional methods and alternatives to lectures that accommodate the different learning styles of adults.Manages projects.Facilitates documentation (surveys, assessments, and observations) of selected activities, behaviors, or outcomes.Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.Must be able to foster innovation, drive execution, focus on the customer, collaborate effectively with others, solve problems creatively, and demonstrate high integrity.
This position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work - must live in the state of Oklahoma.

Job Requirements---
Required: Bachelor's degree, AND: 24 months experience working in an instructional design position.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
Skills:Experience designing college level curriculum, especially the development of a full curriculum preferred.Experience with online learning and the development of online curriculum highly valued.Demonstrated project management skills.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently as well as collegially with other staff members.

Departmental Preferences:Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Psychology & Technology, Adult Learning, Human Resource Development or related fieldMaster’s degree or higher in Instructional Design, Instructional Psychology & Technology, Adult Learning, Human Resource Development or related field.36 months experience in instructional design, adult learning and development, performance measurement, multimedia, and curriculum and course development for classroom and online learning environments.Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.Experience working with state agency or public sector human service programs.Experience with multimedia software.
