Join our Team as an Instructional Designer!

The Role:
The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning materials, including eLearning modules, instructor led training, and multimedia resource for professional enrichment of the Toyota Material Handling dealer network.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop highly engaging eLearning courses, micro learnings, simulations, instructor and participant guides to support product launches and industry trends.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess training requirements and develop plans tailored to meet training needs. 
  • Apply advanced adult learning theories into practical training solutions. 
  • Lead the analysis and application of trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design. 
  • Develop exercises and activities that enhance retention and adoption of learning objectives.
  • Devise modes of assessments, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of a course and make recommendations for further improvements.
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders, ensuring accuracy, organization and accessibility to support project continuity and facilitate collaboration.
  • Audit existing eLearning and instructor-led courses and content to identify improvement opportunities to enhance end user experience and engagement.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field required.
  • 2 – 5 years of related experience required.
  • Experience working within an learning management system to include uploading courses, developing curriculums, running reports and other administrative functionality. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the utilization of advanced eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or comparable platforms. 
  • Experience in facilitating both in-person and virtual sessions a plus. 
  • Proficient in designing gamified learning experiences, as well as scenario-based and application-based learning methodologies. 
  • Great writing, storyboarding, scripting and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong project management skills to achieve target timelines and ensure quality outcomes with minimal supervision or guidance. 
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design principles. 
  • Ability to interpret data and offer solutions. 
  • Ability to manage confidential information.

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule—collaborate in person at our Columbus, IN office and work remotely two days per week.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary - $73,840 - $94,670 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
