Instructional Designer Full Description

Position Overview: 
Power your future with Qualus in our Field Services department as an Instructional Designer/Consultant. You will support the development of client-facing training and readiness solutions. You will collaborate with internal team leadership and various SMEs to structure content and deliver effective solutions that drive success in client initiatives. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Design and develop instructional or enablement content tailored to the specific needs of the client.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify learning objectives, gather content, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop interactive e-learning courses using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theories.
  • Design assessments and knowledge checks to measure learner progress, retention, and content effectiveness.
  • Review and refine instructional materials based on stakeholder feedback and learner outcomes.
  • Translate complex technical, operational, and business processes into clear, practical, field-ready content.
  • Refine broadly defined client needs into structured, usable learning and performance support solutions
  • Work with limited direct access to SMEs, leveraging available resources, internal support, and iterative development approaches
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, feedback, and client constraints throughout the development process
  • Build deliverables that are both training solutions and practical reference tools for real-world use
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-driven environment where priorities, requirements, and stakeholder feedback may evolve throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Balance quality, timelines, and stakeholder expectations while delivering practical, learner-focused solutions.
  • Create and update e-learning content, graphics, presentations, process documentation, and performance support materials using approved development tools, templates, and creativity within brand guidelines.
  • Use available tools, including AI-supported workflows, to improve efficiency and support content development
 Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience developing training, instructional content, or performance support materials.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of instructional design experience, specifically focused on e-learning content creation.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing instructional content using e-learning authoring tools, multimedia software, or related content development platforms (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).
  • Strong ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging, and learner-focused content.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage work effectively within agile or iterative workflows while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating with SMEs and cross-functional teams.
  • Portfolio demonstrating instructional design, e-learning development, graphic design, presentation design, or related content development work.
