Description
Summary: The Instructional Designer is responsible for the creation and delivery of materials for training and education related to the ZO brand and protocols. Under the direction of the Manager – Education, this position will have a significant role in the curriculum development and deployment that impacts domestic and international learners – from employees to distributors and clients such as medical and esthetic practices. They will possess a foundational understanding of instructional design models that produce impactful, measurable results, such as increased product knowledge and brand awareness to assist in achieving overall sales and marketing business objectives. The Instructional Designer will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Training, Sales and Product Development to gather information from subject matter experts and utilize it in content creation to deepen learning experiences which translate to measurable business results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop curriculum and content for account training programs, including lesson plans, learning objectives, storyboards and scripts
- Help design and develop instructional methods and training techniques, consistent with best practice and innovative approaches, to support account training and sales/marketing initiatives
- Create and design interactive and engaging learning content for instructor-led, self-paced and blended learning (video, games, modes of assessment such as test/quizzes, etc.)
- In collaboration with global teams, customize learning modules and training assets to meet the needs of international markets
- Utilize LMS to create, upload, deploy and evaluate course content and effectiveness against business goals and KPIs
- Manage content source files in shared libraries
- Analyze and provide monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on various learning platforms, programs, and training modules
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, training and development or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate education, instructional design or related field, preferably in the beauty, skincare or personal care industry.
- Experience in designing adult learning experience in multiple delivery methods - in person, virtual platforms and blended learning
- Experience in deploying educational content via an LMS and gathering feedback/evaluations for process and content improvement
- Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia)
- Basic CCS, Testing and publishing SCRORM content and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe)
- Video and audio editing skills using tools like Audacity, Camtasia, or Premiere Pro.

Work Environment: The work is typically indoors in an office environment.
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in Irvine California office location, with 2 days remote
Physical and Mental Demands: Sedentary, exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally, or negligible amounts of force frequently, to move objects. This job also requires constant sitting. Constant use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle, and position tools and equipment. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols and maintain a professional and polished appearance and be able to efficiently use Microsoft Office Programs and other systems at a highly advanced level, particularly PowerPoint. The employee must also be able to maintain and preserve confidentiality of company information, exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders including international team members to foster collaboration and shared learnings for consistent messaging company wide.
