Job Summary
The Instructional Designer executes the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of training curricula and learning initiatives in alignment with the organization's strategic and operational goals. Works with management and subject matter experts to ensure learning and performance support solutions effectively increase the demonstrated capabilities and performance of the intended audience and contribute to desired business results.

Salary up to $70,000 based on experience

Essential Functions
  • Develops performance-based learning solutions that drive organizational and individual excellence
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to systematically define learning and performance objectives, project expectations, and desired outcomes
  • Recommends training and performance improvement interventions based on thorough needs assessments and root cause analyses
  • Utilizes existing training materials and technical documentation and partners with subject matter experts to determine appropriate course content
  • Designs innovative learning solutions that incorporate current instructional design and learning theory best practices
  • Develops assessment strategies and evaluation tools that align with defined learning and performance objectives
  • Utilizes multimedia technology and course authoring tools to create and update interactive and engaging online learning modules, performance support tools, and instructor-led classroom materials
  • Solicit, manage, and appropriately implement constructive feedback from subject matter experts, stakeholders, and pilot groups
  • Assists in the uploading, publishing, testing, and troubleshooting of courses published to Koorsen University Learning Management System
  • Gather data to demonstrate the impact of learning and performance interventions at all four Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation
  • Revises training materials and curricula based on patterns identified in evaluation data
  • Facilitates and contributes to the continued improvement and maintenance of training curricula, simple updates to major revisions

Requirements
Must possess the required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the job's essential function can be performed. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, English Communications, Business, or related field with 1 or more years of instructional design and talent development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of experience with Articulate, Adobe, and/or Camtasia 
  • Proven ability to analyze business needs and recommend training and performance solutions that result in the desired, measurable business impact
  • Strong, demonstrated ability to successfully design, develop, implement, and execute online, instructor-led, and blended learning programs related to employee development, leadership, and management development
  • Demonstrated proficiency using content design and development tools and language such as MS Office Suite, web page editors, Adobe Creative Suites, Articulate, Captivate, Snag-it, Camtasia, etc.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of learning project management and full-cycle learning and development
  • Proven ability to effectively facilitate and influence within a fast-moving organization
  • Proven superior writing skills, including the ability to write concise, creative, and practical instruction, especially for training
  • A creative, flexible, and innovative team player

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
