The Instructional Designer II strengthens Sure Steel by designing impactful, easy-to-understand learning tools that help our teams build excellence every day.
The Instructional Designer II is responsible for developing training content that supports safe, efficient, and high-performing teams across Sure Steel’s operations. This role collaborates with subject matter experts and field leaders to create high-quality, easy-to-understand training materials, including facilitator guides, video modules, and eLearning content. This position is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of experience in instructional design who are ready to manage moderately complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assess learning needs through interviews, observations, and performance data
Design instructional materials for classroom, field, and online delivery formats
Create facilitator guides, workbooks, job aids, and visual learning assets
Develop and edit instructional videos using tools such as Camtasia or Adobe Premiere
Build SCORM-compliant eLearning using Articulate Storyline and Rise
Upload and maintain training content in the Learning Management System (LMS)
Use Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) to produce professional learning deliverables
Conduct quality reviews and usability testing for content improvement
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Operations, Safety, HR, and Innovation
Track progress, manage timelines, and maintain clear communication with project stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–2 years of experience in instructional design or learning content development
Proficiency in tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Camtasia (or equivalents)
Experience with video production and editing
Strong written communication and content organization skills
Ability to simplify complex processes into engaging and accessible training
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing projects or working in a fast-paced team environment
Familiarity with SharePoint libraries and document control
Spanish language proficiency (not required)
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or graphic design tools
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
Interest in using AI or automation tools to enhance learning
Compensation Annual Salary: $78,000 – $93,000 Compensation is based on relevant experience, education, and geographic location.
