The University of Florida is hiring an Instructional Designer III to support Geomatics faculty in delivering courses, labs, and extension programs at the West Florida Research and Education Center (WFREC). The role leads field labs, advises students and staff, develops training programs, maintains equipment and software, and liaises with the professional geospatial community to enhance academic and outreach initiatives.
Highlights
Lead instructor for Geomatics field labs and provider of technology-based trainings.
Support and maintain undergraduate and graduate Geomatics curriculum.
Recruit and advise prospective and current students on admissions and career planning.
Develop and deliver local extension/outreach programs for surveying/mapping technicians in West Florida.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and professional societies for knowledge transfer and workforce development.
Manage office and field equipment inventory related to spatial data collection and analysis.
Coordinate courseware standards, software, hardware, and field equipment availability at WFREC.
Master's degree with 4 years relevant experience or Bachelor's with 6 years required; Professional Surveyor and Mapper License preferred.
Experience in distance education, surveying field labs, and working with professional surveying community is advantageous.
Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 depending on education and experience.
