Do you want to join a multi-disciplinary team with a strengths-based approach, emphasizing applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports?  If you answered YES to either of these questions, then consider joining our Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health team!
 
Being a PT Instructional Support Specialist at Devereux has its advantages! As a PT Instructional Support Specialist you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.
 
Hours: Up to 32 hours per week with
 
Schedule: Flexible hours during the time the children are in the school
 
Every day as a PT Instructional Support Specialist you will:
  • Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
  • Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal
  • Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
  • Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

Devereux Center for Autism Research and Education Services (CARES) is an educational program licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that provides services to students, ages 5 to 21, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. CARES provides an environment that focuses on teaching each student based on his or her unique strengths and needs. Programming is focused on increasing independence for each student.
 
 Qualifications: 
EDUCATION:   High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
 
EXPERIENCE:  Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
