Overview
Nakupuna Prime is looking for an Instructional Systems Designer to support the Warfighting Acquisition University’s learning asset development and training delivery. The ideal candidate has experience in all phases of instructional design and specific strengths in front-end analysis of performance contexts to determine the nature of the training.
Responsibilities
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. - Training products delivered through digital learning and in-person classroom environments
- Direct customer consultations and tailored events
- Creative knowledge of animation, graphics, music, and narration
- Develop and/or convert instructor-led content into asynchronous learning experiences and integration of activities for adult learners in the workplace
- Produce text-to-speech, quizzes, and assessments for the modular(s)
- Providing narration for the modules that are effective, reusable and keep the learner engaged
- Conduct analyses and identify training needs in collaboration with management and other personnel as necessary
- Collect and review customer data regarding performance challenges, needs, and strategic problems to provide expert consultation on the evolution, modernization, and recommended learning asset improvements
- Review and assess requirements for learning asset products, training services, and other learning and development interventions presented for resourcing and prioritization
- Support the development of learning objectives and course designs across the learning asset portfolio
- Establish viable solutions in collaboration with instructional personnel as necessary in order to establish or revise training program architectures, designs, and delivery methods that meet evolving customer needs and operational constraints
- Identify potential metrics or success indicators pertinent to the nature of the solution
- Evaluate solutions presented for resourcing and prioritization. In collaboration with subject matter experts and other instructional personnel, as necessary
- Evaluate solutions for feasibility, suitability for adult learners, and alignment to the corresponding requirement or problem set. Review metrics or success indicators pertinent to the nature of the solution
- Share lessons learned, findings, effective practices, and outcomes with the internal learning and development community through participation in regularly scheduled community events
- Consult on matters generally pertaining to front-end analysis including gap and needs analysis, understanding performance environments, application of adult learning principles and practices, and identification of skills and competencies necessary to solve problems encountered, as well as, the nature of possible solutions that are technologically feasible, economically supportable, and about which efficacy and customer success can be determined and documented
- Provide consulting to, and short-term support for, members of the leadership team and business units that are engaged in requirements generation and solution determination for customers' learning and training needs
- Apply the ADDIE model, an agile model, or a combination of either
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is familiar and has experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience with DART, Composica, and Articulate 360 are required
- Must be experienced with 508 Compliance
- Creative experience with graphics, animation, music are required
- Experience with Gamification is preferred
- Experience with DoW is required
- Excellent customer-facing skills; writing and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and 5-8 years of experience in ISD and adult learning methodology.
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a favorable background check
Location: Most of the work is performed remotely. The SME will travel as needed to Dayton, OH and the National Capital Region.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $95,000.00 to $159,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
