Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Coordinator for Integrated Curriculum in the Department of Medical Education (DME) provides comprehensive academic and administrative support for the integrated Foundations (preclinical) curriculum, including curriculum integration coordination, coordination of WrightQ (Problem Based Learning), and coordination of the teaching and clinical faculty to ensure integration of sessions. This role ensures seamless course delivery across multiple content areas, serves as a central point of contact for students and faculty facilitators for WrightQ, and facilitates interdepartmental collaboration with affiliated colleges and institutional offices. The coordinator plays an essential role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of complex educational offerings within the Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) by leading the day-to-day operational coordination of curriculum delivery across Foundations modules and supporting curriculum integration, data integrity, and continuous quality improvement efforts. The position is full-time and requires a minimum 4 days of in-person work per week with the option of one remote day per week.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience in education, healthcare, higher education administration, program/project management, instructional design, or a related field OR an Associate’s degree and five years of experience in education, healthcare, higher education administration, program/project management, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with internal and external clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office and database management.
  • Professional writing, document editing, and the ability to create accurate progress reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks and work on multiple diverse projects and to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of student populations.
  • Attention to detail in customer services, records management, and other work products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree and one year of related work experience in education, healthcare, higher education administration, program/project management, instructional design, or a related field.

  • Experience with university computer systems i.e. BANNER Admin, EAB-Navigate, Pilot, Slate.

Essential Functions and percent of time:
Curriculum Coordination and Integration 30%
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the integrated preclinical curriculum in collaboration with course and module directors.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist with Interprofessional Education curriculum and activities across all 4 years of the medical education program.
  • Support longitudinal integration of basic and clinical sciences by ensuring curricular components are delivered as designed.
  • Assist in curriculum mapping and integration monitoring to identify gaps, redundancies, and alignment with program objectives
  • Assist with implementation of curriculum changes, updates, and innovations.
  • Coordinate teaching faculty participating in Foundations curriculum activities
  • Offer flexible course coordination and administrative support across all DME-led courses, as assigned.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of curriculum data within learning management and/or curriculum management systems, including session objectives, scheduling, and tagging

Problem-Based Learning (PBL)/WrightQ Coordination 20%
  • Coordinate logistical and operational aspects of PBL/WrightQ delivery such as organizing, scheduling, and managing the PBL/WrightQ sessions across multiple student groups and curricular blocks.
  • In collaboration with faculty lead, coordinate assignment, onboarding, and ongoing communication with PBL/WrightQ facilitators.
  • Maintain a pool of facilitators and potential substitutes
  • Work with Faculty leads to monitor PBL/WrightQ sessions for consistency, attendance, and adherence to curricular standards.
  • Upload, manage, and maintain curricular content, including PBL/WrightQ cases, quizzes, session materials, and schedules, within the learning management system and/or curriculum management software.
  • Ensure accurate tagging, version control, and timely release of cases and materials.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to curricular content access and escalate as needed.
  • Provide operational guidance and support to facilitators related to PBL/WrightQ delivery methods, tools, and expectations

Clinical Faculty Scheduling & Coordination 20%
  • Schedule and coordinate participation of clinical faculty across integrated courses, PBL/WrightQ sessions, and curricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate faculty teaching schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clinical faculty regarding teaching assignments, expectations, and logistics.

Assessment Administration & Proctoring 10%
  • Proctor in-person and/or remote examinations in compliance with institutional and accreditation policies.
  • Assist with exam preparation, delivery, and post-exam processes in collaboration with course leadership.
Communication & Curriculum Support 10%
  • Serve as a central communication hub for students, faculty, and staff related to Foundations curriculum activities.
  • Maintain records related to curriculum delivery, faculty participation, and assessments.
  • Support course and program reviews by compiling reports and summaries as requested.
  • Monitor and communicate student feedback trends in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to inform operational improvements
  • Assist in continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts by tracking action items, supporting follow-up on identified issues, and helping implement curriculum enhancements
