Job Description This position is restricted with funding through September 30, 2031.The purpose of the Integrated Education and Training (IET) Specialist position is to lead the development, coordination, and enhancement of integrated education and workforce training initiatives within a regional adult education program. This role ensures that adult learners—including those in community settings and correctional facilities—have access to high-quality, career-focused instruction that combines academic skill development, workforce preparation, and occupational training.
The position is responsible for aligning programming with regional labor market needs, supporting instructors in delivering effective IET models, and fostering partnerships with workforce agencies, employers, and correctional institutions. Through these efforts, the IET Specialist advances learner success by increasing educational gains, industry-recognized credential attainment, employability, and successful transitions to employment, postsecondary education, and reentry pathways.Ultimately, this role exists to strengthen program quality, expand equitable access to career pathways, and ensure compliance with state and federal adult education priorities while meeting the diverse needs of adult learners across the region.
Organizational objective: To design, implement, and continuously improve integrated education and training (IET) programs that effectively align adult basic education, workforce preparation, and occupational skills training across a diverse regional service area. This includes supporting over 40 instructional sites, with targeted strategies for both community-based and correctional facility programs.
The IET Specialist will work collaboratively with instructional staff, workforce partners, and institutional stakeholders to ensure that all programming is responsive to regional labor market demands and accessible to learners with varied educational backgrounds and barriers to employment. Emphasis will be placed on increasing measurable skill gains, credential attainment, successful reentry outcomes for incarcerated individuals, and transitions to employment or postsecondary education. Through data-driven decision-making, professional development support, and innovative program design, the role will strengthen instructional quality, ensure compliance with state and federal adult education guidelines, and promote equitable access to high-impact career pathways for all adult learners.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hiring range for this position is $57,733.00-$81,289.00. Salary will be commensurate with competencies and experience. KSA's/Required Qualifications | Knowledge and leadership experience in Adult Education and community college settings. Considerable experience in the field of education, preferably Adult Education. Bachelor’s degree, as required by Virginia Department of Education. Excellent knowledge of regional, state, and federal adult education policies and procedures. Ability to lead meetings of professionals from varied backgrounds. Ability to build partnerships with local agencies. Ability to work within budget on multiple projects. Clear and professional communication via email and phone. General office computer skills with systems like Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, etc.
