Job Summary
Senior Administrative Clerk

As a Senior Administrative Clerk within Purdue IT, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our technology procurement processes run efficiently—supporting the teams that keep our campus connected, informed, and innovative.
You’ll provide high-level administrative support for product procurement, acting as a trusted resource for both IT clients and vendors. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, service-oriented environment where attention to detail and proactive communication make a daily impact.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a facilitator and liaison for Purdue IT procurement activities, guiding clients through purchasing processes and university policies
  • Prepare and provide price quotes, process purchase requests, and ensure timely approvals in compliance with procedures and regulations
  • Monitor vendor orders, communicate order status updates, and resolve purchasing or shipping issues independently
  • Receive and verify deliveries, ensuring purchases are accurately recorded in the procurement system
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual billing for recurring internal IT services
  • Provide additional business support for university cellular and asset management services

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
  • High School Degree or High School Equivalency
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in administrative and operational support
 
Preferred:
  • Experience in a higher education business environment 
 
Skills Required:
  • The ability to:
    • meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and pay close attention to detail
    • interpret and effectively communicate University policies and procedures, including the University procurement application and procedures
    • maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal ‎skills
  • Proficient in use of Office 365 applications, with the demonstrated ability to maintain purchasing records, spreadsheets, and use MS Teams for communication and documentation purposes
