Posting Context Statement | The IT Procurement Specialist is a member of the Student and Technology Operations Support team (STOS) is a unit within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The primary focus of this position includes providing excellent customer service, placing orders for technology hardware and software, tracking and delivery of products, updating the work management system in an accurate and timely manner.
Position Overview This position facilitates efficient procurement processes, assisting in documentation, vendor communications, and ensuring compliance with institutional purchasing policies and procedures.
Duties may include: Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders Collaborate with departments to clarify requisition details, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely order placement Maintain organized and up-to-date procurement records Assist in monitoring inventory levels and stock availability Prepare reports and summaries of procurement activities and spending Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience | Experience in an office environment working as a part of a team Experience with modern computer technology, including common devices, common software applications, Windows and MacOS operating systems
Required Education | High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other | Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles
Additional Preferred | Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in an information technology/business field with a preference for a Bachelor’s Experience in technology support Experience in IT/business consulting or advanced experience in customer service Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management/distribution and/or enterprise desktop management Experience in customer service Demonstrated skills in listening/reading for understanding, professionalism, collaboration, advocacy, objectivity, diligence, and flexibility Experience utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills Experience in communicating verbally and in writing
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions | Ability to: Frequently lift, carry and/or otherwise move information technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds indoors and outdoors Move between buildings Climb stairs and ladders Crawl or maneuver in confined spaces
