The University of Florida is hiring an IT Security Awareness & Training Assistant (OPS) to support the Integrated Risk Management team in promoting cybersecurity awareness across campus. The role involves creating engaging security content, assisting with campus-wide compliance initiatives, and educating the university community on data protection practices.
Highlights
Assist in designing and updating security awareness materials such as newsletters, infographics, and compliance guides.
Support event planning and execution for IT security initiatives including Cybersecurity Awareness Month workshops.
Create and maintain web content using UF Web Content Management Systems (CMS).
Required software proficiency includes Microsoft 365 and standard office productivity tools.
Preferred skills include strong written and verbal communication, creativity in social media engagement, and familiarity with cybersecurity principles.
Knowledge of programming/scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS is a plus but not required.
Fluency in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is desirable to enhance AI security program effectiveness.
Salary ranges from $15 to $17 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
Required qualifications: must be at least 18 years old, with either UF student status maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA or a high school diploma or equivalent for OPS classification.
Collaborate with the UF Information Security Office and support faculty, staff, and students at one of the nation's largest university IT environments.
