| Primary Function of Organizational Unit | Information Technology Services, in collaboration with the campus community, provides technological solutions and services for students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the NCCU mission and strategic plan. Information Security Services, is responsible for advancing and supporting the university’s cybersecurity, governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives. The office works collaboratively with the rest of Information Technology Services and campus stakeholders to protect institutional information assets, support regulatory and policy requirements, reduce institutional cyber risk, and promote a culture of information security awareness while enabling the university’s academic, research, and administrative mission. |
| Primary Purpose of Position | The IT Security Professional, Analyst supports the institution’s information security program through risk management, compliance, vulnerability management, and security operations activities. This role emphasizes both proactive and reactive cybersecurity practices, policy development and validation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to protect institutional data, systems, and research assets. The position reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), assisting with implementing and maintaining security controls, responding to cybersecurity events, supporting governance and compliance initiatives, and promoting security best practices across the university environment. |
