Job Summary  | We are seeking a collaborative and customer-oriented AV Specialist to join our Events & Scheduling group at the Marriott Library. This group schedules and supports more than twenty classrooms, two large event spaces, and many library meeting rooms. The Events & Scheduling team manages the setup, furniture maintenance, and AV support throughout the library. The AV Specialist role requires a strong technical background and excellent customer service skills to provide seamless AV support for academic classes, special presentations, and important meetings, as well as technical support for technology-rich spaces, such as the visualization wall and studios The ideal candidate should be able to anticipate patron needs, troubleshoot issues, and work effectively with others to create memorable experiences in our library spaces. In the absence of the Events & Scheduling Manager, this position will supervise the overall scheduling and catering operations.

This position is required to work on campus full-time. Telecommuting will only be authorized for occasional/exceptional circumstances.

Responsibilities  | Provides audiovisual support for library classrooms, events, and patrons. Performs maintenance and coordinates upgrades of conference rooms and classroom equipment. Instructs faculty and staff on the use of the conference rooms and classrooms. Works with the audiovisual team to capture, stream, and process video recordings for streaming and archival purposes. Provide support to the media studios, data visualization walls, and respond to patron requests concerning classrooms, library collections, and other questions. This position will require a flexible work schedule that may include limited nights or weekends. This position will also craft basic how to tutorials and train other Events team members on tier 1 support of AV systems.
Minimum Qualifications  | Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty.
Preferences  | Good communication skills and customer service ability. Ability to troubleshoot issues on one’s own and by working with coworkers, supervisors, and librarians. Willingness to learn new skills. Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac computers including video authoring software, printing, and peripherals.
