Rate of Pay:
This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 214, with an annual salary range of $65,527 to $87,370. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
This position provides high-level technical expertise for all college hardware and software with a focus on process improvement, designing, engineering, and automating processes used by departmental staff. This position serves as a departmental project coordinator for both internal and external projects related to the Technology Services department. Major duties include coordinating the yearly replacements of college computers, hardware/software rollouts, Apple device MDM management, Jira Helpdesk automations/workflows, scripted API integrations, server maintenance, database maintenance, and monitoring/reporting on equipment usage. This role has the technical skillset and understanding of responsibilities to coordinate closely with and provide back up to departmental Systems Administrators as needed. This position works closely with the Managing Director of Technology Services and the Senior Director of Technology Services Support to shape and implement long-term strategic decisions.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or a minimum of 6 years of experience developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting solutions in a networked environment, as well as coordinating projects, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware and software.
  • Certifications such as PMP (PMI Institute), ITIL/ITSM required or completed within first year in position; A+, Network + are preferred.
  • Excels in leadership and project management skills necessary to coordinate large scale departmental projects working closely with senior leadership.
  • Strong ability to analyze and map processes to find opportunities for improvement, as well as engineer technical solutions to implement changes as needed.
  • Extensive knowledge of working in and developing solutions related to the operation of helpdesk ticketing systems and the ITSM framework.
  • Expert knowledge of APIs and the ability to write custom solutions to streamline various departmental systems by sharing data seamlessly with one another.
  • Expert knowledge in programming/scripting languages and automation concepts necessary to engineer workflows to be utilized by staff in various systems used by the department.
  • Expert knowledge integrating and administering hardware/software using various systems management platforms such as Microsoft SCCM, Jamf Pro, and Google Workspace.
  • Expert knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network security principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of A/V systems, as well as automation and control systems used during client presentations and events.
  • Excellent documentation skills required to ensure proper training materials and how-to guides can be made available to staff. Ensuring all work is tracked within project tracking system.
  • Problem-solving and analytical aptitude.
  • Ability to relate concepts of computer hardware and software to end users of varying skill levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.

Essential Duties:
1. Project Coordination and Technical Leadership
  • Coordinate internal and external technology projects for the Technology Services department.
  • Lead annual computer replacement initiatives, technology deployments, and major system implementation projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coordination for technical support staff.
  • Develop project tracking methods, reporting mechanisms, and workflow automation processes.
  • Serve as a backup resource for technology support personnel and assist with complex technical initiatives.
2. Enterprise Device and Systems Management
  • Administer, configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise computing devices and operating systems.
  • Manage systems management platforms including Microsoft SCCM, Jamf Pro, Active Directory, and Google Workspace.
  • Develop and maintain deployment standards, operating system images, software packaging, and automated installation processes.
  • Configure device policies, security settings, and deployment workflows.
  • Support campus-wide technology lifecycle management initiatives.
3. Systems Integration and Automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows, scripts, and API integrations.
  • Engineer solutions that facilitate data exchange between departmental systems.
  • Create monitoring, reporting, and analytics tools that support operational decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process redesign.
4. Advanced Technical Support and Process Coordination
  • Serve as a technical escalation resource for complex issues.
  • Coordinate activities among technical support staff, systems administrators, asset management personnel, and leadership.
  • Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge resources.
5. Strategic Planning and Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with technology leadership on long-range technology planning and operational initiatives.
  • Analyze departmental processes and recommend improvements.
  • Design and implement help desk workflows, escalation procedures, and automation rules.
  • Establish standards and best practices for documentation and service delivery.
6. Technology Asset Planning and Budget Support
  • Partner with asset management staff to forecast technology replacement requirements.
  • Assist with technology budgeting, procurement planning, and resource allocation.
  • Support inventory management processes and technology asset tracking.
  • Provide recommendations regarding future technology needs and investments.
