Junior Frontend Software Engineer, MyLexia
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate junior frontend engineer who enjoys building and maintaining single page applications to support the increasing number of educators using Lexia’s products.
In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of frontend reports, components, and tools for the myLexia suite of applications. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and senior engineers to implement new features and help modernize myLexia, with a focus on migrating from AngularJS to the latest version of Angular.
The ideal candidate will be an early-career engineer looking to take the next step in their career. This role will provide many opportunities to learn new tools, be a part of impactful projects, and work closely with senior engineers.
Location:
This position is a fully remote position within the USA (EST schedule preferred).
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop new views and reports for the myLexia suite of applications using Angular and Typescript.
- Contribute to the ongoing effort to migrate the myLexia application from AngularJS to the latest version of Angular.
- Work closely with the product and design teams to understand specifications and plan development work.
- Play an active role in team development processes including standup, planning, code review, and task refinement.
- Actively learn new tools and technologies to expand your knowledge and broaden your impact.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience developing web applications.
- Familiarity with at least one Javascript framework (such as Angular, React, or Vue).
- Experience building and maintaining Single Page Applications (SPAs).
- Experience with modern build tools (webpack, npm, vite, yarn, grunt).
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Angular and/or Typescript.
- Experience working with a frontend component library.
- Experience with one or more backend languages, such as PHP, Java, C#, or Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
