Summary: 
The LAUSD Reading Tutor will work in collaboration with our Los Angeles area schools. The tutor is responsible for instruction in small groups with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building a stronger academic foundation. 
 
Education and Experience: 
  1. Experience working with students either as a teacher, tutor or as a resource personnel
  2. Understand the need for accurate PLI record keeping and documentation in a timely manner
  3. Providing small group instruction
  4. Setting and maintaining high expectations for students
  5. Executing student goal-setting conferences
  6. Collecting and analyzing data
  7. Building relationships with students in service of their academic growth
  8. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  10. Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  11. Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  12. Ability to motivate students daily attendance
  13. Communicate with PLI management, school staff, and parents.

Job Expectation:
Must live in the Los Angeles, CA area
This is an on site position
Must have own Transportation
Be willing to work between 20 to 40 hours per week.
You will work with 52 Street Elementary School or Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet School.
