McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Lead Analyst, Billings & Operations, for our Higher Education division. The Lead Analyst of Billings & Operations will be a major driver in optimizing our billing operation, sales incentive compensation operation, and adjacent areas for McGraw Hill Higher Education. Reporting to the VP of Strategic Sales Operations, this role will drive analytical, design, and operational projects, and work cross-functionally with stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Channel, Systems, and Data & Analytics. To drive real impact, this position requires someone who is analytical, creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. Travel is required between 5% - 10% of the year.
What you will be doing:
- Work closely with the VP of Strategic Sales Operations and Sr. Manager of Billing & Operations to lead strategic and operational projects that require data analysis, process analysis/redesign, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Stabilize, strengthen, or redesign systems and processes that evaluate millions of transactions across thousands of files and dozens of distributors.
- Create and maintain both standardized and ad hoc reporting to provide insights for the Billing, Finance, and Sales teams.
- Document and evaluate current state processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and resilience; recommend, own, and drive selected process improvement initiatives.
- Support the enhancement of data quality, streamline reporting processes, and automate workflows, supporting informed decision-making across different operations.
- Support Finance in the calculation of sales compensation for hundreds of employees on dozens of unique plans.
- Travel is expected up to 5% - 10% of the year.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree required, coursework in statistics, accounting, or related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in billings operations, sales compensation operations, sales operations, go-to-market enablement, or related functions, with a focus on improving operational efficiency, resiliency, and transparency.
- Demonstrated experience with process improvement initiatives, analyzing operational workflows, and providing actionable insights to enhance business performance.
- Strong analytical and business acumen in finance, sales, or marketing, with the ability to synthesize data and present recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Preferred experience within the education ecosystem.

The pay range for this position is between $94,000 – $130,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
