University of Dayton is hiring a Lead System Administrator/Software Developer. The role involves managing Linux-based servers, ensuring security, automating processes, and developing software solutions to support system capabilities and mission requirements, primarily supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory.
Highlights
Manage and maintain Ubuntu Linux servers and ensure system security.
Develop, test, and deploy software to enhance workflows and system capabilities.
Administer various SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases with performance tuning.
Use Docker, containerized services, and ideally Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Hold DoD Cyber Workforce Framework recognized security certification (e.g., Security+, Network+).
Experience with Direct Attached Storage (RAID) and enterprise storage solutions.
Collaborate in Agile or DevSecOps environments using Git and issue-tracking systems.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience; preferred 8+ years in production or mission-critical Linux environments.
Must be a U.S. citizen due to federal government contract requirements.
Support mission related to the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB.
