Position Summary:
Join the team at DLR Group as a Learning Design Specialist in this impactful, brand-new role for the firm. We’re looking for someone passionate about elevating the human experience through design and helping to foster our culture of lifelong learning. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to maintain, design, and create engaging firm-specific learning experiences that inspire growth and strengthen connection across the firm. You’ll monitor and expand our CEU-accredited offerings while co-owning the day-to-day management, implementation, and continuous evolution of our learning platform.

What you will do:
  • Design and develop engaging, impactful learning experiences across firm-wide topics such as project management, human skills, ethics, and compliance.
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts to create discipline-specific content for architecture, engineering, interior design, planning, and other specialty areas.
  • Develop learning content for various formats—virtual or in-person, synchronous or asynchronous—and transform recorded sessions or documentation into e-learning.
  • Ensure courses meet CEU requirements to maximize value for licensed professionals.
  • Serve as a primary administrator of the learning platform, including content management, platform maintenance, and implementation of updates.
  • Track and report on platform usage metrics, recommend improvements, and promote platform engagement to enhance employee skills and effectiveness.
  • Support learners and content curators with day-to-day needs, troubleshooting, and platform guidance.
  • Stay current on learning platform, LMS, course authoring, and related software trends to ensure best-in-class solutions.
  • Produce and support live learning sessions as needed, including managing recordings, chat moderation, and uploading videos, transcripts, and materials.
  • Own and manage technical learning tools to ensure smooth operation and integration with the firm’s learning ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in related field of study
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in learning design or instructional design.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint or similar software.
  • Knowledge of various Learning Management Systems or learning platforms.
  • Proficient with course authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Easygenerator) and video editing software (e.g., Camtasia or similar).
  • Strong understanding of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks effectively.
  • Expertise in accessible design guidelines to create inclusive learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate in Instructional Design
  • Experience with InDesign and Power BI.
