Position Summary
The Learning and Teaching Nexus (Nexus) at NYU's School of Professional Studies (SPS) seeks a Learning Designer who will collaborate with faculty on the development and implementation of evidence-based teaching strategies to support the educational goals of SPS faculty and the School. The position is also responsible for developing and facilitating pedagogy workshops, conducting teaching consultations, observations, supporting teaching initiatives, and collaborating with Nexus colleagues. Additionally, the Learning Designer will support the Director, Operations and Learning on teaching support services, programs and other teaching-related priorities, as well as coordinate services with other NYU units.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a relevant field

Required Experience:
3+ years experience in the design and development of innovative curriculum design in higher education, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in developing and delivering pedagogy workshops in a variety of modalities. Experience in conducting individual faculty consultations, review syllabus design and teaching practices, offer guidance on evidence-based strategies to support teaching redesign.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years University- level teaching and professional experience in educational technology. Experience in cultivating digital communities. Experience developing dynamic websites. Experience with Learning Management Systems like Brightspace or others.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, evidence-based Instructional Design models & educational pedagogy, and innovative pedagogical best practices. Demonstrated effectiveness in designing, developing, and delivering courses in higher education. Knowledge of the use of course management systems. Ability to convey the affordances of technology in education. Experience working independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues and clients is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. Creative problem-solving abilities and initiatives.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to conduct literature reviews in the field of educational research, conduct pros-cons analysis of educational technologies and tools. Curate and compile resources for faculty, staff and students.

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $98,000.00 to USD $118,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
