Position Summary: Learning & Development individuals of Higginbotham should possess an extraordinary personality that represents our company and department to the inside and outside world.  The Learning & Development Specialist will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of learning programs and will be responsible for organizing and reporting training needs and results.

Essential Tasks:
  • Effectively lead and participate in project teams comprised of subject matter experts and stakeholders to determine desired talent development outcomes and alignment opportunities.
  • Project manage learning opportunities including scheduling, promoting, and providing results to the stakeholders within the designated timeframe.
  • Design, maintain, and deliver learning content and programs within designated timelines including multiple learning delivery methods that accommodate various learning styles to maximize learning impact.
  • Create a supportive, motivational, and inspiring learning experience that promotes application to the work environment.
  • Coordinate course offerings within requested schedules and make all necessary arrangements for materials, pre-class communications, training room adjustments, technology, onsite representatives, sign in sheets, etc.
  • Manage all training software including, but not limited to, confirming all systems are prepared for training, assigning/removing training, troubleshooting any user inquiries, completing reoccurring audits, and providing reports to stakeholders.
  • Measure overall training effectiveness, reporting all data statistics to improve employee abilities, identify benchmarks, and strengthen the skill set of the existing workforce.
  • Traveling may consist of up to 20 percent of the year.
  • Remain current on talent development theories and methodology.
  • Assist with any other projects within the responsibility of Learning & Development.

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.

Licensing and Credentials:
  • None

Systems:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Articulate 360, and familiarity with Learning Management Systems are recommended with the ability to learn new systems quickly and processes quickly.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
  • Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
  • Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
  • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions
