Job Description
- Develops and implements comprehensive learning resource strategies to enhance program experiences and student outcomes.
- Develops program-level learning resource strategy based on program objectives, the learner population, and business requirements.
- Develops a comprehensive collection of learning resources aligned with course competencies and the learning resource strategy.
- Facilitates the build-or-buy decision-making process with a deep understanding of current capabilities and future capabilities roadmap.
- Researches and recommends new learning resources that meet andrological and business needs; manage the process of onboarding those resources.
- Leads the learning resource request process and ensures that necessary stakeholders are involved at the right time in the process (Procurement, PDOs, accessibility, Program Experience, Cost/Consumption, Student Disability Services, etc.).
- Advises academic and design stakeholders on the instructional value, andrological fit, and long-term sustainability of approved resources.
- Establishes and maintains a centralized asset tracking system that governs the full lifecycle of learning resources.
- Manages the lifecycle of learning resources from selection, obtaining rights with procurement, implementation, and retirement, ensuring consistent access for stakeholders and students.
- Provides technical and content area support for existing learning resources.
- Ensures learning materials meet accessibility standards and are technically compatible with WGU systems, improving student access, reducing support incidents, and enhancing the digital learning environment.
- Maintains integrity to the program through the ongoing review of relevancy, currency, and value of LRs in the context of industry and student expectations and needs for a full product lifecycle, inclusive of redevelopment and continuous quality improvement cycles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Outstanding communication, project management, and relationship management skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Ability to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in higher education and online learning.
- Deep knowledge of Open Educational Resources (OER), academic resources, commercial publishers, simulations, labs, digital platforms, and third-party content ecosystems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-complexity projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated success using collaborative, cross-disciplinary workflows to complete large-scale or technically complex projects.
- Experience with instructional design, learning resource evaluation, online learning platforms, and educational technology.
- Ability to track industry trends, emerging credentials, workforce expectations, and technology changes to ensure programs remain current and competitive.
- Strong command of accessibility standards, ADA compliance practices, and inclusive content.
- Expertise in monitoring and interpreting learning resource provider offerings, capabilities, and market innovations to ensure the selection of best-in-class resources for students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years of related experience
- Subject matter knowledge in one or more of the following areas: technology, health, education, or business.
- Previous experience with online education, learning resource strategy, and project management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Publishing, Instructional Design, Online Higher Education, or Library Science.
- Experience with educational technology platforms and learning management systems.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines for digital learning materials.
Travel
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
