Clinical Health Network (CHN) is a managed health services organization that values innovation, equity, agility, and grit. The Learning Team is focused on creating, acquiring, and transferring knowledge to CHN employees.
CHN believes that continuous improvement is the foundation for long term success and that continuous learning is the core competency that enables high performance. The Learning Specialist develops and delivers virtual instructor-led training and/or e-learning for specific functions, i.e., Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, Financial Verification, and other corporate functions.
Essential Functions
- Uses facilitation and training skills to create a positive, engaging, and effective learning environment
- Responsible for facilitation of the CHN Making a Connection onboarding program for all incoming CHN employees and the Core Essentials Training for all incoming Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, and Financial Verification employees; including preparation and distribution of all materials associated with the applicable learning
- Consults with leaders to determine most effective instructional methods and tools based on needs assessment and/or specified training needs
- Utilizes industry best practices to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning events that are effective, and timely to a variety of internal audiences
- Manages all logistical tasks associated with planning, launching, and promoting learning events and activities
- Leverages learning technologies to enhance instruction and employee outcomes
- Evaluates learning programs, and reports on measured results, modifying training programs when necessary to adapt to business or work environment changes
- Contributing to the development, ongoing maintenance, and management of training processes, procedures, and standards
- Demonstrates the principles of adult learning, time management, and classroom management skills, and delivers core competency development for new and incumbent employees
- Embraces new technology. Stays informed of learning enablers for next-generation learning-management systems, virtual classrooms, mobile-learning apps, embedded performance-support systems, polling software, learning-video platforms, learning-assessment and -measurement platforms, and open online courses.
- Upholds organizational values and standards, while proactively seeking ways to improve efficiency, equity, and service excellence
- Ensure compliance with all CHN and affiliate policies, as well as all state and federal regulations
- Provides positive and development feedback and accountability related to all practices
- Demonstrates commitment to CHN and Planned Parenthood’s health equity mission, with emphasis on racial equity and community accountability. Demonstrates dedication to learning about racial equity and addressing structural racism in healthcare
- Consistently delivers high-quality results using sound judgment and data-driven decisions. Prioritizes customer needs by providing prompt, accurate service to all stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience developing training strategies and curriculums for technical training
- Demonstrated experience in gathering learning requirements from a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging collaborative web-based tools, mobile learning, and social media to deliver effective training and knowledge sharing
- Possesses a deep level of curiosity to understand new business functions and work
- Advanced facilitation skills with experience in all phases of the instructional design process for adult learning
- Willingness to travel in accordance with the needs of the position, as outlined in the essential functions. Compliance with all CHN travel policies, including safety guidelines while operating a personal vehicle
Qualifications and Experience (Preferred)
- Master’s in Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field; an equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable
- Current membership in a relevant professional organization (such as Association for Talent Development) and certification as a training professional
- Training experience in a healthcare organization
- EHR Experience, EPIC is a plus (Patient Access, Financial Verification/Clearance or Revenue Cycle Management)
- Knowledge of concepts and processes related to the healthcare revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, charge capture, claim submission, payment posting, collection, coding, remittance processing, and follow-up

$62,000 - $90,000 a year
CHN believes in fair and equitable pay. Above is the pay range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, and business need.
