Position ObjectiveThe Learning Systems & Design Program Manager serves as the organization’s learning design architect, responsible for building, governing, and continuously improving the systems, frameworks, and instructional standards that support enterprise learning and development.
Reporting to the Director, Training & Development, this role translates learning strategy into structured, scalable, and measurable learning experiences. The Learning Systems & Design Manager ensures learning content, curriculum architecture, and delivery standards are cohesive, high quality, and aligned to business priorities, role expectations, and cultural values.
This role is accountable for the design integrity and systemization of learning, ensuring that training initiatives across the organization are intentional, consistent, and embedded into how work gets done.
Essential FunctionsLearning Architecture & Instructional Design (60%)· Serve as the architect of the organization’s learning design framework, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across all learning initiatives.
· Design and maintain structured, role-based learning pathways aligned to:
o Frontline and field roles
o Leadership and management roles
o Functional and specialist roles
· Apply instructional design best practices to ensure learning is:
o Performance- and capability-driven
o Aligned to clear role expectations and outcomes
o Delivered through effective blended learning approaches
o Reinforced through practical application and real-world execution
· Lead the design and development of learning materials, including:
o Digital learning modules
o Facilitator and participant guides
o Job aids, playbooks, and performance support tools
o Leadership and capability-building content
· Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences.
· Establish and maintain instructional design standards, templates, and content guidelines to ensure consistency across programs.
· Expertise in at least one area of eLearning – video production, podcast production, learning game development or graphic design.
Enterprise Learning Enablement & Change Support (20%)· Support enterprise learning initiatives tied to:
o Leadership development
o Operational excellence
o Compliance and risk mitigation
o Organizational change and integration
· Design learning components that support business transformations, system changes, and evolving operating models.
· Ensure learning solutions provide clarity, consistency, and confidence during periods of growth and change, including M&A activity.
· Act as a thought partner to the Director, Training & Development on learning system scalability, design maturity, and long-term capability building.
Learning Systems & LMS Ownership (10%)· Own the structure, governance, and optimization of the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it supports:
o Enterprise learning strategy execution
o Role-based and capability-based learning pathways
o Compliance and certification tracking
o Manager and leader visibility into learning progress
o Meaningful reporting and insights
· Define and enforce standards for learning content governance, including:
o Content lifecycle management
o Version control and quality assurance
o Access and permission management
o User experience and system usability
· Develop dashboards and reporting that track learning completion, effectiveness, and adoption trends.
· Use learning data to inform design improvements, system enhancements, and strategic recommendations.
Governance, Quality & Continuous Improvement (10%)· Establish metrics and feedback loops to evaluate learning effectiveness and impact.
· Continuously refine learning architecture, instructional approaches, and system capabilities based on data and business needs.
· Maintain a high standard for learning quality, cultural alignment, and learner experience across all programs.
