The Reading & Math Intervention Instructional Coach partners with teachers to strengthen the design, delivery, and effectiveness of intervention programs aimed at accelerating student learning. This role provides on-site and virtual coaching, models evidence-based instructional strategies, analyzes student data to guide instructional decisions, and supports teachers in delivering targeted interventions that meet the diverse needs of learners. The Intervention Instructional Coach serves as a collaborative thought partner, resource provider, and instructional leader to ensure students make measurable academic gains.

Responsibilities

How you'll do it:
Instructional Coaching & Support
  • Partner with teachers to implement best practices in literacy, math, and other targeted intervention areas.
  • Conduct regular coaching cycles that include observation, feedback, and co-planning.
  • Model lessons, instructional strategies, and small-group intervention techniques.
  • Support teachers in using progress monitoring tools and formative assessments to guide instruction.

Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Facilitate data meetings to review student progress and identify next instructional steps.
  • Assist teachers in analyzing diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment data.
  • Recommend targeted instructional strategies and materials based on data trends.

Professional Development & Capacity Building
  • Lead professional learning sessions focused on intervention methods, instructional differentiation, and data-driven practices.
  • Share research-based strategies and resources to support struggling learners.
  • Mentor teachers in developing intervention lesson plans aligned with curriculum and student goals.

Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with school leaders, instructional staff, and program supervisors to align intervention goals with school improvement plans.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders regarding student progress and instructional needs.
  • Foster positive, growth-focused coaching relationships with teachers.

Qualifications

    •    Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
    •    Valid teaching credential (preferred).
    •    Minimum 3–5 years of successful teaching experience, with expertise in intervention

    •    Demonstrated ability to use student data to drive instruction.
    •    Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
