Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented LMS Training Coordinator to oversee the development, organization, and maintenance of our Learning Management System (Moodle). This role will be responsible for managing course creation, collaborating with departments to build training programs, and ensuring all learning content is accurate, engaging, and functioning properly within the LMS.

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary owner of the LMS, ensuring courses are properly designed, accessible, and delivering an effective learning experience for employees.

Location: Full time at our corporate office in Northbrook, IL (Monday-Friday)
Pay Range: $70,000-$90,000

Key Responsibilities
LMS Course Development
  • Build, update, and maintain courses within the Moodle Learning Management System
  • Convert training materials, presentations, and subject matter expert (SME) content into structured online learning modules
  • Ensure courses are clear, engaging, and easy for employees to complete
  • Maintain course consistency and formatting across the LMS
  • Upload and manage course materials, videos, quizzes, and assessments
LMS Administration
• Configure courses, learning paths, certifications, and user roles in Moodle
• Manage course enrollment rules, completion tracking, and automation workflows
• Perform system testing, updates, and quality assurance
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide LMS support to end users
Collaboration with Departments
  • Work with department leaders and subject matter experts to develop and update training materials
  • Coordinate the creation of new courses when policies, procedures, or workflows change
  • Help departments translate their knowledge into structured training programs
Reporting & Training Metrics
  • Track course completion rates and employee training compliance
  • Provide reports on training progress and LMS usage to leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve training participation and course effectiveness
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve course design and learner engagement
  • Stay informed on LMS best practices and new Moodle features
  • Recommend improvements to enhance the employee learning experience

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5+ years of experience designing and managing LMS-based training programs
  • Strong hands-on experience with Moodle LMS
  • Experience developing SCORM/xAPI-compliant courses
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools
