Management Analyst, Social & Multimedia.

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and District Public Relations
, the applicant will be responsible for developing, producing, and analyzing multimedia content and managing social media presence across digital platforms at the college level and as needed, at the district level. This position plays a key role in shaping the College’s online voice, engaging diverse student and community audiences, and using data-driven insights to inform outreach strategies. Collaborate with the Marketing & Content Strategist to amplify institutional messaging through video, social media, and multimedia storytelling.
Examples of duties include: Develop, create, and manage multimedia content, including photography, videography, social media graphics, reels, short-form videos, and other digital assets that support institutional goals. Manage and maintain the College’s social media presence across multiple platforms, ensuring timely, engaging, and brand-consistent content. Serve as the College’s primary event photographer by planning, capturing, editing, and organizing photographic coverage of campus events, student activities, academic programs, employee recognition events, and institutional milestones. Attend and provide multimedia coverage of campus events, programs, ceremonies, and special activities, including photography, videography, and real-time content creation for social media and institutional communications. Capture, edit, and organize high-quality photographs and video content for use in marketing campaigns, publications, websites, digital signage, and public relations materials. Collaborate with the Marketing & Content Strategist to amplify institutional messaging through video, social media, and multimedia storytelling. Develop and implement social media content calendars that support enrollment, retention, student engagement, and institutional priorities. Monitor social media trends, audience engagement, and platform analytics to optimize content performance and inform strategy. Utilize AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to support content creation, scheduling, analytics, and audience engagement efforts. Support digital marketing and recruitment campaigns through multimedia storytelling and targeted social content. Coordinate livestreams, event coverage, interviews, and multimedia projects for college programs and special events. Ensure all digital content complies with accessibility standards, district policies, copyright requirements, and branding guidelines. Generate reports and recommendations based on social media performance, audience engagement, and campaign outcomes. Work collaboratively with instructional departments, Student Services, Athletics, and administrative offices to identify and promote student success stories, programs, services, and events. Assist with media relations, promotional campaigns, and institutional communications initiatives as assigned. Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in social media, digital marketing, multimedia production, and higher education communications.

Assignment | 100% of full time, 37.5 hours per week, 12 months per year, with anticipated start date of August 24, 2026. Schedule may change to include some evening or weekend hours, as needed. This position is a member of the West Valley-Mission Classified Employees Association (WVMCEA), Office, Technical & Business Services Employee Unit.
Work Location: Mission College, Santa Clara, CA
Salary and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Range: $9,387.67–$10,262.58 monthly (WVMCEA Salary Schedule, Range 70, Steps A-C).
Benefits include: Employer-contributed medical, dental and vision for employee, spouse, and/or dependents. Employer-paid long term disability for employee. Employer-provided life insurance. 14 paid holidays, plus 1 floating holiday annually; paid non-workdays between Christmas and New Year. 12 days vacation leave accrued annually; rate increases step-wise up to maximum 22 days vacation leave accrued annually. 12 days sick leave accrued annually. Personal necessity leave and personal business leave. Educational growth incentive program from $45 to $225 monthly. $1000 longevity award annually after 10 years of service and $1,500 longevity award annually after 15 years of service. CalPERS retirement. Position is union affiliated.
Minimum Qualifications | Any combination of experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Two years of responsible technical or professional administrative experience in a college or university environment. Education: Equivalent to possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, social science, computer science, or a related field AND
Understanding of, and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Desired Qualifications | The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following desired qualification(s): Experience developing and executing social media strategies in a higher education or public sector environment. Demonstrated success creating high-performing multimedia content (video, reels, motion graphics) that drives engagement and enrollment outcomes. Ability to capture high-quality photographs and video content at campus events, programs, ceremonies, and college activities for use in social media, marketing campaigns, publications, websites, and other institutional communications. Experience managing multiple social media platforms with consistent brand voice and strategic messaging. Familiarity with AI-powered tools for content creation, scheduling, analytics, and social listening. Experience using social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar tools. Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including audience targeting, campaign planning, and performance optimization. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support institutional goals and initiatives. Experience mentoring or supervising student workers, interns, or content contributors. Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive communication practices. Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable content and strategy improvements. Experience managing livestream or live event coverage for institutional, educational, or public-facing events. Knowledge of photography, lighting, audio capture, and short-form mobile video production techniques. Experience developing multimedia and social media content that supports student recruitment, enrollment, and engagement campaigns. Familiarity with accessibility standards for video and digital media content, including captioning, transcripts, and alternative text.
Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: Pertinent federal, state, and district laws, codes and regulations. Tools, techniques and terminology used in statistical data analysis. Principles and practices of modern office management and recordkeeping. Operation, procedures, and policies of college instructional programs. Software programs and database systems relevant to area of assignment.
Ability to: Analyze existing work processes and develop improved methodologies and procedures. Provide technical and functional supervision to less experienced staff. Function as project manager, providing liaison to other district and/or college faculty and administrators. Plan, coordinate and conduct analytical studies and surveys related to assigned department programs and activities. On a continuous basis, know and understand all aspects of the job; intermittently analyze work papers, reports and special projects; identify and interpret technical and numerical information; observe and problem solve operational and technical policy and procedures. Design, develop, and coordinate implementation and evaluation of departmental administrative and operational systems and procedures. Create and maintain databases from a variety of internal and external sources; monitor development and input of data. Monitor and analyze changes to laws, regulations, and procedures relative to area of assignment; interpret, explain, and disseminate information on pertinent regulations to administrators, faculty and staff. May provide leadership and coordination of projects in area of assignment; liaison with other district and/or college departments and divisions, faculty and administrators to ensure updated information is available and presented on web site. Provide work direction and assessment to technical and administrative support staff and students. Audit, input and validate relevant data in various software programs; use content management system to help maintain website, maintain college events calendar, digital signage, social media, and external advertising, produce materials for class schedule and collateral material Coordinate a variety of information and resources for department administrators and faculty. Prepare and maintain a variety of federal, state, district, and college reports and surveys. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other district employees, and the public using principles of good customer service. Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect. Be an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
