Job Summary | Manages the financial operations for assigned areas. Oversees, reviews, and submits budgetary actions and changes. Collaborates with the budget management staff to develop and improve budget functions within assigned areas. Oversees contract process and works on grant budgets. Supervises assigned budget staff for assigned areas. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration or related field. Four (4) years professional experience in accounting, finance, or budget administration. Supervisory or leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, or nonprofit organization administration. Experience with budgets in higher education. Experience with grants management and/or publicly funded organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) | Strong knowledge of general accounting practices and current trends. Ability to exercise good judgment involving fiscal operations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities. Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, and analyze and organize information. Skilled in project management, financial planning, development of goals, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. Excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery. Ability to maintain confidentiality on a wide range of issues. Possess negotiation and conflict resolution skills to address issues and opportunities for improvement.
Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Ability to work in cooperation with other team members to achieve the Cleveland State University (CSU) goals and objectives. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (advanced knowledge), Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
