How You’ll Contribute to Our Mission
As a Manager, DevOps, you’ll lead the team that powers software delivery across Frontline Education — shaping how source control, CI/CD, environment automation, and release enablement come together to accelerate innovation and reliability.
You’ll work closely with leaders across Engineering, SRE, and Data to create scalable, secure, and efficient platforms that enable developers to deliver exceptional products to the educators we serve. Your work will directly enhance developer productivity, deployment safety, and cost efficiency — helping us deliver trusted technology that empowers schools and the people behind them.

How You’ll Drive Success

  • Build and operate scalable CI/CD systems and environment automation, defining golden paths and policy-as-code.
  • Enable progressive delivery practices and automated change controls while ensuring safe, reliable rollouts.
  • Integrate security-by-default practices throughout pipelines — including scanning, SBOM, signing, and secrets management.
  • Champion developer self-service through portals, templates, and ephemeral environments to reduce lead time and operational toil.
  • Partner with SRE leadership to incorporate incident learnings and strengthen release and rollback processes.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to standardize CI/CD and governance for data and ML pipelines.
  • Partner with Engineering leaders to drive adoption of platform standards and developer best practices.
  • Manage a team of 10–25 engineers and leaders; oversee vendor relationships, operating budgets, and tooling optimization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, automation-first thinking, and operational excellence.
  • Publish and improve delivery KPIs such as DORA metrics, pipeline reliability, rollout health, and adoption.

What You Bring to Help Us Grow
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related fields, with 2–4+ years leading teams or managers.
  • Deep expertise in Git-based workflows, CI/CD at scale, Kubernetes, containers, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK), and artifact and secrets management.
  • Proven success implementing GitOps and policy-as-code approaches, integrating security controls into build pipelines.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and clear, executive-ready communication skills.
  • Experience with developer portals or golden path frameworks (e.g., Backstage) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud enablement, platform standardization, and FinOps practices a plus.
