Job SummaryThe Director of Student Engagement provides strategic leadership for programs and services that enhance the student experience across all BCTC campuses. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success Services, the Director oversees student activities, orientation, peer mentoring, student organizations, and engagement initiatives that foster belonging and success.
Review of applicants after January 5th, 2026Job Duties:Lead daily operations of the Student Success Hub in the Associate Dean’s absence.
Develop and implement a college-wide Student Engagement Plan.
Supervise engagement staff, student workers, and temporary employees.
Oversee orientation, peer mentoring, student activities, student organizations, and Esports programming.
Promote student activities and engagement opportunities across the college.
Oversee Hub social media and ensure compliance with communication standards.
Co-advise Student Government and maintain related publications and calendars.
Support HEART of BCTC food pantry and related outreach efforts.
Assist with collection, review, and processing of Penji data and maintaining Penji check-in kiosks.
Collect and analyze engagement data to guide programming and strategy.
Manage budgets and assist with fiscal planning for engagement initiatives.
Coordinate Hub activities and respond to student inquiries.
Perform other duties to support student success and institutional goals.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree, minimum and two (2) related experience
Position requires regular travel between campus locations. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree and two years related experience.
Additional Skills Requested:Demonstrates ability to engage, motivate, and communicate effectively with students in group and individual settings; strong public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive community and technical college.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams, manage projects, achieve organizational objectives, and build cohesive team environments.
Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of student educational, social, and economic assets and barriers.
