As the Learning & Development Manager, you will lead the Group Operations Learning and Development team members to design, develop and deliver highly targeted curricula and programs using various methods of delivery that will provide successful learning services for the business partners. In addition, you will establish a strategic partnership with leaders and business partners across Group Operations and Guardian, which includes a comprehensive understanding of the business strategies, priorities, and challenges. You will also be responsible for recognizing emerging patterns, summarize results, and provide recommendations for actions to address gaps and/or potential opportunities and continuously assess and measure training programs to ensure effectiveness; exercise judgment in adjusting where appropriate and communicate timely updates to the business partners with a training component impacting their business.

- Able to develop a long-range vision and strategy that makes the best use of emerging technologies to effectively lead the design, development, and delivery of training programs, curricula, and services across multiple business lines.
- Successful with working in a team environment that demands a high degree of collaboration through coordination and communication of delegated responsibilities.
- Exceptional consulting skills to influence and educate senior leadership, peers, stakeholders.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new business models, supporting technical infrastructure, business strategy, priorities, challenges, and creating highly targeted training needs analysis and training strategy.
- Exceptional teamwork, negotiation, and change management skills to manage a diverse resource pool, leveraging various skills and expertise to best meet the needs of the business.
You will
- Lead training needs analysis to ensure the business partners are proactive with training needs. Through these close business relationships, develop a highly targeted training strategy that addresses the current and projected training need
- Actively manage a team of learning professionals. Ensure effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy and relevance of training programs and their delivery. Provide developmental support and coaching to direct reports as well as training constituents.
- Develop functional professional relationships across L&D to foster an environment of teamwork, belonging, and inclusion in driving towards the same goals and objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs, curricula, and services for dedicated business partners, including technical and professional training. Research and implement best practices in technology, tools, and approaches to training delivery for the increased effectiveness of L&D. Ensure deliverables are timely, accurate, highly targeted, and meets business objectives.
- Remain informed of environmental and industry trends by monitoring industry news and pertinent research reports. Utilize insights to recommend actionable programs to deliver expected results of business partners.
- Monitor changes in environmental landscape with the focus on improving key required skills and the overall performance required to match the changes within the industry and/or market segments.
You have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field and/or experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years successfully managing training team with responsibility for training design, development and delivery to sales, production, and support areas; developing print, computer / web based, audio and video products
- 5+ years demonstrated success in managing the design, development, and delivery of professional development curricula, using various mediums (instructor-led classroom, distance learning)
- Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices, industry training technologies used to deploy, maintain, and monitor learning.
- Strong familiarity with training technology as it relates to design and development (e.g., Articulate, Mindsmith, Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.), video and audio production (e.g., Adobe CC) and learning management systems.
- In-depth knowledge of training techniques and practices to drive enhanced skills to improve performance through best practices in designing, developing, and delivering to a sales, production, or support area organization.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, organizational structure/processes, and be able to quickly analyze and summarize data to identify trends and results received compared to those expected.

Salary Range:$84,320.00 - $138,522.50
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
